Virtual Learn & Connect Meetings

These meetings offer Spanish speaking audiologists and AuD students an opportunity to practice and expand their medical/professional Spanish language skills. They provide participants with a platform where they can:

  • Listen to experts present in Spanish on different topics of interest

  • Expand their professional vocabulary in areas of clinical practice.

  • Network and interact with other bilingual colleagues from around the country.

  • Discuss current challenges and brainstorm solutions to improve audiological care for the Latino/Hispanic community.

Carolina Gattei, PhD | Associate Professor | Universidad Torcuato Di Tella | Dr. Gaetti’s expertise is in clinical linguistics, and her research focuses on language comprehension in children and adults, as well as language development in children. She is currently a researcher at the National Council for Scientific and Technical Research (CONICET) in Argentina.

  • Topic: Sentence comprehension in Spanish-speaking children with hearing loss.

What to expect during these meetings

These meetings are open to ALL Spanish speaking audiologists and AuD students in the U.S. (Hispanic and non-Hispanic). Participants should expect:

  • Guest speakers who are experts in the field and also fluent Spanish speakers.

  • One hour of full Spanish inmersion!

  • Profesional presentations on a clinical topic (30 min).

  • Networking and open discussion (30 min).
