On-Demand Webinars

Participants can choose to take one course, multiple courses or all of them. These courses try to build knowledge progressively as participants advance through each webinar. Courses follow a clinical encounter format to provide participants with a clear sequence of information.

  • Course 1: Basic audiology vocabulary, as well as test instructions for a comprehensive hearing assessment test battery in Spanish.

  • Course 2: Eliciting the chief complaint and completing past and present case history in Spanish.

  • Course 3: Sharing test results and discussing recommendations in Spanish.

  • Course 4: Discussing hearing technology, including hearing aids and cochlear implants in Spanish.

  • Course 5: Knowing your language limitations: Providing safe and effective clinical care.

  • Course Series: Seven courses, including all the 5 courses listed above, plus two extra webinars on pediatrics, tinnitus, and cognition. CEUs are offered for this course series.

Language Proficiency Scale

Most of the courses available on our On-Demand format are most beneficial to participants with intermediate or advanced Spanish language skills. Our courses do not teach Spanish, instead they concentrate on using Medical Spanish in audiology spaces. Participants can gauge their language level skills by taking this language proficiency scale. Participants should score FAIR or higher.

Course Series On-Demand

In partnership with AB, this course series offers seven courses and 0.7 CEUs. Courses follow a clinical encounter format staring with basic greeting in introductions, conducting clinical history, instructing patients for tests, reviewing results and recommendations, discussing hearing technology and more. There are courses concentrating specifically on pediatrics, tinnitus, mental health, and cognition.
